More likely people will start buying less games at full price and opt to wait for the prices to drop and pick them up later. You're also taking a big risk by cutting off a major source of people jumping into a franchise, especially how sequel happy the industry is right now.
But I'm sure if they kill used games, the next line of argument well be "Nobody is buying our games at full price and are just waiting for sales now. We're going to have to put a stop to these price drops."
