Two things: digital distribution is ultimately going to kill used games sales, but this won't lead to increased sales, it's just going to lead to more frequent deals because that's going to be the only way to get many people to buy their games. The alternative is piracy and that's obviously worse for the publisher. The other thing is that publishers should perhaps think about starting a used game service. Seriously. If you can't beat 'em join'em. What's wrong with that? Short lived solution, perhaps, but consider they could turn those used game sales to their benefit and even make new sales in the process. Buy 1 new game, get 2 used games half off. Whatever.
