Unfortunately Gamestop and their ilk have commoditised and commercialised that right to the point where it is harming the industry. Being able to sell off the games you're done with was never meant to mean having a nationwide retailer leveraging that ability into an enormous secondary market designed solely to undercut the people that create the original product, that only they see any benefit from.
Unfortunately there is no obvious way of stopping Gamestop's shady business practices without harming all used games saes.
