It doesn't make Gamestop the "devil" for wanting to be a financially successful company - that's the key to their entire existence, after all.
My issue is with the pricing for new games or even Digitally-distributed games - considering the huge profit involved (with no paper box, manual, disc-imprinting fees, disc, etc...) digital prices, even at launch should be a bit lower.
I don't fault consumers for trying to get the best deal they can get. I love used games and when I buy console games (not as frequently purchased as my beloved PC games), I enjoy the great savings that buying used games affords me. No issue with this at all and I have to admit I feel a wee bit of satisfaction that it irks console-devs so much.
