A pretty good series of games gets shelved because of piracy. :[

But after this many years I really think piracy is the responsibility of the software developer. If you make a product that can be pirated, you have to accept the loses. There is not a single developer out there that does not know about piracy.
There are tons of successful games out there. Tons of successful developers who live in the same world of piracy. What are they doing? Online integration, subscription service , ad revenue, etc. Do those things. Don't make a game and just let it sail out into the sea.
If you can't think of a way to protect your game from being pirated DONT FUCKING MAKE IT. Because look, we all see you can't prevent so do something else or do something a company that isn't being fucked over by piracy is doing.
Enough is enough.
