People heralding the poor sales of those games as the end of PC gaming (yet again) are completely ignoring Orange Box, which AFAIK did fairly well. PC gaming doesn't need to die just because shitty games don't sell well. Quite frankly I would not be upset at all if devs kept their multiplatform ports off the PC and I will just rent this weeks Splinter Cell game for the Xbox360. There are lots of successful PC games, they just tend to be of higher quality and value. Consoles have a more mainstream appeal, which is why a lot of games will sell 10x as many copies on those systems, not SOLELY because of piracy, although it is certainly a contributing factor. Sad to say it, but you can put out a pretty mediocre game on a console and it will sell just because people literally go into EB and say "what came out this week?"
