- I don't like Valve/steam having so much control over my games. Its kind of like the "big brother" of pc gaming.
- It cost the same as retail media. Give me the the retail version thanks. Buy retail, install it, download patch if nesc and patch, done. I don't see the effort people complain about. There is the occasion game that does require multiple patches be installed in order but really not that often. Also XFIRE does a great job of downloading patches for you.
- All my retail media looks kewl on the shelves and some of the box artwork (yes I said "artwork") is sharp. I dig it. Digital downloads are just boring. I feel ripped off.
- I've been made aware (not saying you are) that Valve employees peruse this fine site so Im suspicious when I see positive comments here concerning steam.
With all that said. I hated steam in its infancy but feel it has somewhat improved. I no longer hate it but still consider it a turd I rather not deal with whenever possible.
