Microsoft to buy mIRC for $28 billion in attempt to one-up Salesforce's Slack deal

Go home, Microsoft. You're drunk.

Shantynews

Microsoft has more money than God and they have been swinging around their microdong lately with some big acquisitions. The company recently purchased Smash.gg for some reason, and it appears they have their sights set on the next target. mIRC! In response to the $27 billion Slack deal earlier this week, Mister Softy is reportedly getting even more into the internet relay chat game.

mIRC is still better than Teams.

A source close to the deal who probably works at Goldman Sachs or some shit told us that Microsoft's potential acquisition of mIRC would bolster their existing Teams service. "No one really likes using Teams, and Microsoft is dumb enough to think they can acquire users like they did with Hotmail."

It remains to be seen if this deal will close at the reported price, but Microsoft is definitely dumb enough to go through with this. I mean, they did buy LinkedIn for $27 billion, right?
