Rage 2 Wasteland Superhero trailer shows off ability combos

Become a Wasteland Superhero in the newest Rage 2 trailer, which gives us a look at how lethal you can be.

Rage 2 is back with a killer new trailer that shows off some of its ferocious new weapons and abilities.

It's still the colorful, rainbow-tinged shooter we've been seeing here and there since its announcement, and the Rage 2 Wasteland Superhero trailer really does make you feel like, well, you could take on anything.

Rage 2 finds you taking on the role of Walker, the last Ranger, who's out to wreak havoc on the mean ol' General Cross and his mutant army, with plenty of armaments at your side. Some of the weapons included in the trailer, like the Firestorm Revolver, Hyper Cannon, and Wingstick (the old standby) look particularly lethal, and we can't wait to put them all to the test. There are quite a few exploding enemies, which is totally up our alley (and may very well be up yours, too).

As far as what to expect from Rage 2, like potential multiplayer and other cool additions coming to the game later on? Expect mostly single-player content, as we heard in out interview with the folks working on Rage 2.

"We're focusing on single-player," said Tim Willits in a previous chat with Shacknews. "We feel that the game has great value for what you get. We do have a long tail, like community things that we'll talk about soon. For now, we're going to focus on a great experience for the player."

Not sure if Rage 2 is going to satisfy all your primal urges to rip and tear? Be sure to check out our own Ozzie Mejia's hands-on preview to see how he found the game upon his short time with the shooter.

The game is looking pretty sweet, if you ask us, and we're ready to give it a try when it finally drops on May 14, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Damn, I was always amazed how good the first one looked on the 360. This one looks visually stunning.

I appreciate the use of saturated colors. It's a nice change from the tendency to go with dingy dull colors for post apocalyptic settings.

I wonder if all the people who made Saints Row the Third left Volition and have infected other companies?

Awesome! RAGE 2 is a day 1 for me, this new [ vid ] looks epic! Can't wait, also I still can't believe it is also open world as well.

Good times. Man with this and Far Cry New Dawn the FPS quality this year is something else, if Doom Eternal really drops as well this year I am going explode.

It’s like UbiSoft made an id Software game. Looks fucking awesome. The original RAGE was a blast on the 360.

Definitely can tell it was developed by Just Cause devs. Just hope it doesn’t suck like JC4 but so far it looks great.

The shooting feels like an iD game, that's the difference. Its not like nuDoom with its magnetic melee mechanics, Rage 2 is all about abilities and combos instead, but the gunplay feels very similar.
