Borderlands 2 Dragon's Keep prologue short released

The Borderlands 2 short film that Gearbox teased earlier this week has been released. The (very) short bit of machinima is a prologue to sort-of-explain the latest downloadable content, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep.

Next-gen Borderlands will probably keep four-player co-op limit

Next-gen Borderlands will probably keep four-player co-op limit

The Borderlands series has revolved around 4-player co-op, a trait which Gearbox readily admits is based largely on performance optimization for the current generation of consoles. "It's mostly for performance, to keep the network bandwidth down low enough that everyone can have a rich and fast-paced experience," creative director Paul Hellquist said. "Because Borderlands is a very fast-paced game. So if we went further than that, framerates and all that kind of stuff would suffer."

Even with new and more powerful hardware on the way, though, Hellquist indicated that they'll probably stick with the player count to keep the action manageable.

Borderlands 2 level cap jumps to 72 with Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2

Gearbox isn't done with Borderlands 2 quite yet. This fall, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will expand the level cap up to 72 and will add the Digistruct Peak Challenge, a new map. This will be a $5 release and won't be part of the Season Pass.

Borderlands 2's 'Tiny Tina' DLC packs big things in small packages

Borderlands 2's 'Tiny Tina' DLC packs big things in small packages

With the exception of the misstep with mad Moxxi, Borderlands DLC generally built momentum, culminating in a fourth that blew the others away. Borderlands 2's offerings have been a little more uneven and stumbling, and the most recent didn't leave me very confident. I should have kept the faith, though, because this fourth and final Season Pass piece surprised me with its depth of scope and vision.

Borderlands 2 trailer shows Krieg the Psycho's sensitive side

Borderlands 2 trailer shows Krieg the Psycho's sensitive side

All the psychos in Borderlands 2 need to be killed, right? Well, except one. Krieg the Psycho is a new vault hunter in the world of Pandora and it turns out he has a soft, sensitive side. Sadly its deeply buried under such wild phrases as "poop train" and "meat bicycle."

Borderlands 2 'Dragon Keep' preview: Tiny Tina as omnipotent being

Borderlands 2 'Dragon Keep' preview: Tiny Tina as omnipotent being

Borderlands 2 is finishing out its season of content in June with Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. The divisive character takes a lead role this time, as a dungeon-master playing "Bunkers and Badasses" with the first game's protagonists, Lilith, Brick, and Mordecai. That means you'll be tinkering in a playground of Tina's imagination, and as you might expect, that's a pretty manic place.

Borderlands 2 psycho Krieg will be 99% insanity

Borderlands 2 psycho Krieg will be 99% insanity

Borderlands 2's second downloadable content character, Krieg the Psycho, is set to release next week. While each of the characters have been nicely differentiated, Gearbox faced a new kind of challenge with this character. How do you create a player character that actually feels like the series' most iconic (and extremely aggressive) enemies?
