The Shacknews Champions League Afterparty is kicking off our esports tour for players over 30 years old with a tournament following day one of E3 2019 on Tuesday, June 11. Players will square off in a gauntlet-style tournament featuring different console and PC games. The prize pool is set at $10,000 for the electronic sports competition. The party will also feature musical guests Blau and Vicetone leading up to headliner and Hero of Time Marc Rebillet. Doors open at 6 PM. The first 64 players over the age of thirty to show up to the party will be subjected to an epic video game gauntlet. At the end of the test of video game skills lies the chance to win the first place prize of $6,000. Second place will walk off with $3,000, with third place taking $1,000 home. The doors open at 6:00 PM PT, so get over to The Mayan early to secure your chance at Shacknews immortality.

Last year, Shacknews held two esports tournaments, the Shacknews World Championship 2018 at E3 ended with MegaMoose64 walking away with $30,000 of my money. It's time for a LAN Party


General Admission tickets will secure entrance to the event on a first-come-first-serve basis. VIP tickets will have a separate line for faster entrance to the event. All attendees should be mindful that we can't accommodate more than the venue's capacity, so show up to ensure your spot at the party. We will be opening doors to walk-ups after 9 PM. Asif Khan is the CEO, EIC, and majority shareholder of Shacknews. He began his career in video game journalism as a freelancer in 2001 for Tendobox.com. Asif is a CPA and was formerly an investment adviser representative. After much success in his own personal investments, he retired from his day job in financial services and is currently focused on new private investments. His favorite PC game of all time is Duke Nukem 3D, and he is an unapologetic fan of most things Nintendo. Asif first frequented the Shack when it was sCary's Shugashack to find all things Quake. When he is not immersed in investments or gaming he is a purveyor of fine electronic music. Asif also has an irrational love of Cleveland sports.
