We held our first ever electronic sports tournament at E3 2018. The Shacknews World Championship 2018 featured 64 players as they went through a gauntlet of some of my favorite video games. There was just one competitor left standing after the six rounds of the tournament. His name is MegaMoose64, and he embodies what it means to do it for Shacknews. His performance at the Shacknews World Championship at E3 2018 netted him my briefcase and $30,000 of prize money, but it has also left him the winner of one of the most illustrious awards in games media. MegaMoose64 is the Do it for Shacknews Award winner for the year 2018.

MegaMoose64 rose above the competition across some classic games, but his most intense moment of the tournament had to have been the 1v1 sudden death GoldenEye 007 battle with GamerGirlLovesU. MegaMoose64 had advanced in SF2: Hyper Fighting, Rocket League, Halo 2, and Duke Nukem 3d, but he had to overcome a serious deficit to come back in the N64 classic game.

After advancing to the Shacknews World Championship Final, MegaMoose64 had to prove his might in a true test of any Shacker. Quake 1v1 for Shacknews immortality at E3 2018 was the most fitting conclusion to his jourmey and MegaMoose64 didn't disappoint.

MegaMoose64 showed everyone how to do it for Shacknews at E3 2018, and he continues to do so everyday. You are a true Shacknews World Champion, MegaMoose64 and we are so proud of you. Do it for Shacknews!
