Microsoft and developer Turn 10 Studios have big plans for the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7. Expected to be the showcase title for the upcoming Xbox One X 4K experience, much attention has been paid to the popular racing series’ upcoming entry to ensure it looks as good as possible. That work has reached a climax as Microsoft has announced today that Forza Motorsport 7 has gone gold.

The game will launch for both the Xbox One console and for Windows 10 PCs on October 3. The Xbox One X enhanced version will be available when the console launches on November 7. The Xbox One X version promises to be the ultimate 4K racing experience for console players, but Windows 10 players can get a taste earlier with the Forza 7 Windows 10 demo.

The demo for Forza Motorsport 7 will be available on September 19 and features three cars and three tracks. Drivers will be able to take the cover model Porsche 911 GT2 RS for a spin in Duabi, the Mercedes-Benz Tankpool racing truck in Italy, and the Nissan NISMO GT-R LM around the legendary Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit. The demo will also include the revamped weather effects teased during the game’s reveal at E3 2017.

During E3 2017, Forza Creative Director Dan Greenawalt sat down on the Shacknews casting couch and opened up about the new game, explaining that Forza Motorsport 7 was built from the ground up for the PC platform. You can catch the full video interview below. Make sure your rig is ready for the Forza 7 demo by checking out the required system specs.

I'm scared to try this as I just got Forza 5 free and am enjoying that...CONSIDERABLY more than the crap that is Forza Horizon 3. :/

I didn't like FH, but tons of people love it. T10 Studios did a good job identifying what the consumers enjoy about driving games.

What I like is that they split them and not tried to combine them. "Simulation" and just Arcade fun stuff.

I should have known better, but let all the positive reviews make my choice.

It's pretty and I don't dislike it so much for being arcadey, but more for the generic "tracks." I feel like I'm just driving around. After experiencing 60FPS, I can't go back to 30 anymore.

I still have it installed to ogle HDR, but most of my time will be spent on 5.

      Awesome, I can't wait.

Also I can't wait for them to announce Horizon 4! It is going to be INSANE!
