E3 2017: Shadow Of The Colossus Is Getting Remastered

Looks like Team Ico's most iconic title is coming to the PlayStation 4.

Sony's E3 press conference is underway, and gamers are understandably pumped up to see what some of the biggest developers in the industry have been working on. With that said, most gamers weren't ready for what they saw just moments ago, as it appears that an a fresh new remake of the 2005 classic title Shadow of the Colossus is in the works.

Only a few hours before the press conference, a leak revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe had filed several new trademarks, among which was a listing for Shadow of the Colossus. This news lead many to believe that a remake was in the works, and it seems they were right.

We're no less thrilled, of course. Shadow of the Colossus was a surprisingly solid game that spoke to gamers of all walks of life, and it's one of only a handful of titles that is truly worth the modern remake treatment.

The original SotC made me physically ill to play. What I liked I actually kind of enjoyed, but on general principle,I'll NEVER buy a remastered of any game.

That's an interesting line to draw. I have very little issue with remasters, if done right, and priced reasonably.

You'll never buy a remastered version of a game, even if it fixes all the problems you had with the original? That doesn't make much sense.

I hope you never watched John Carpenter's The Thing, because that was totally a remastered version of The Thing from Another World.

There are a million reasons why "fuck remastering things" is a super weird stance to take, on principle.

Seriously. If you like a game and the remaster is in fact better (it is sadly sometimes debatable, as with Silent Hill), why wouldn't you want to play the best option available?

Obviously you have to feel the price point is justified, but that's a different issue.

Here's the thing,I don't buy games twice, and when I finish them,I usually never play them again,so there's absolutely no reason to buy a remastered anything. Hell,I have a crap load of games that I haven't even finished and don't even talk about all of the Steam games that I haven't even installed.

I'm excited to play this, I never played SoTC before but it's been on my list forever.

      It looks amazing.

Same here. The PS4 is the first sony console I've owned so I'm pretty happy this is being brought over.
