by Xav de Matos, Sep 18, 2010 8:30am PDTHalo: Reach. Civilization V. PlayStation Move. Tokyo Game Show 2010. Could a gamer's life get busier? Oh, yes. We're not even into October. There are still a ton of titles hitting retail before 2010 rings its final bell. (And let's not even talk about how busy the first few months of 2011 will be.)
Let's enjoy it while we can and hope everything works out when we pull out our wallets.
- Alice O'Connor: I imagine I'll continue to work my way through the Halo: Reach campaign, grumbling all the way. Monday Night Combat shall be my palate cleanser.
- Brian Leahy: This weekend I'll be playing Halo: Reach--three achievements left!---and Civilization V! I'm still waiting for the first balance patch before I jump back into StarCraft 2, but I don't think it will be this weekend.
- Garnett Lee: [Left the station to give the Covenant back their bomb.]
- Jeff Mattas: [We'll wake him, when we need him.]
- Xav de Matos: After focusing on the campaign for the first few weeks I had the game, I finally jumped into Halo: Reach multiplayer. Considering I haven't played Halo online in over a year, I think I did pretty well. When I'm not playing Reach, I'm sneaking in some time with Civilization V.
I sure hope there isn't an existing group. I didn't see one.

Robot Policeman is on G4 right now, and I am wondering something. Murphy goes back to his old house and it's for sale and stuff. What happened to his family? There's a burned book and the furniture is covered with sheets. Did his wife and kid just move or were they killed? I say that they moved cause they thought he was dead. The girl I was watching it with was wondering if Boddicker and his crew killed them.

I am very fed up with World of Warcraft. I want to give Cataclysm a shot before I quit the game entirely but I'm finding it harder and harder to give a fuck about this game. I've been trying PvP lately because I had grown so bored and annoyed by the leveling experience and the PvP is even worse.
Everyone is twinked out to shit either with blues or with the ridiculously powerful Heirloom weapons which themselves are bullshit since they allow high level players to steamroll through the game faster and faster, creating an incredibly top-heavy environment of rich higher level players, further damaging both the game's monetary economy and gameplay economy (zone popularity, dungeon popularity, etc.)
This game's getting uninstalled, because there's no point in ever touching this game again. Nothing ever changes. Cataclysm isn't going to fundamentally alter the way the game is designed, nor is it going to alter the terribly dull method of progression through the levels. You will still have nothing to do but idiotic, inane, repetitive quests. And you will still have nothing to do but get steamrolled by wealthy fuckos who have twinked out their other characters for PvP. Fuck this. I was on the fence about whether or not to resubscribe to EVE or if I should ride it out till Cata hits. Nope, WoW is done.

There's just no fucking way I should have lost this game, he tried to cheese, failed badly, and still ends up beating me despite my gigantic advantage.
Was my mistake here trying to do it all with marines? I wanted to try to keep the pressure on him so his economy would stay depressed, but it didn't work. I got preoccupied with trying to micro the marines and I know my minerals were pretty high at one point, but jesus, he should not have been able to come back from that. Fuck.
So frustrated with losing these games that should be easy wins. My 2v2 team is high platinum but it's all from my partner, who's a diamond level 1v1 player. I really feel bad for him, we'd be high diamond 2v2 if I could play to save my life.

I replaced an Intel mobo that had clearly had it (, but now the ASUS P5Q is throwing out memory errors or just not booting whatever I do - I'm using Crucial Ballistix, but set at auto and I have even dropped it to two DIMMs to no avail.
I'll RMA the board, but is there any way to make sure the next one doesn't give me shit too? Apparently shit like this is more common than I thought. :(
