Rise of the Triad preview

If you enjoyed the original Rise of the Triad from Apogee back in 1995, then don't expect too much more from the upcoming reboot from Interceptor, except a few game tweaks and an Unreal Engine 3 upgrade. OK, that may be enough to try it again.

QuakeCon 2012 hadn't even started yet and plans were already being changed. Record numbers delayed registrations, limited access to the "Bring your own computer" area to latecomers and pushed John Carmack's keynote back two hours.

Carmack sorry about performance of Rage on PC

Rage was a mess when it came out on PC in late 2011, and while patches improved the game, it still was frustrating to play. Id Software's John Carmack apologized to QuakeCon attendees on how "badly we handled the game in the PC space."
