I'm looking to thresh out a concept of Optimistic Loneliness, a term which I learned on a YouTube video about the history of Animal Crossing (sorry I can't find the link since I turned off history).
About me: 40 something divorcee (10 years, 1 year since), no kids, working to rebuild himself, on PTO for three weeks to sort things out,
The best way I can describe this feeling is playing Harvest Moon on the SNES as a teen - spending the first night of the game in the rain clearing the entire plot of rocks and weeds, like putting in the work and planning for growth and success.
As a kid, that was easy, it was like staying up late one night to mash out a plan in a game of HM or Aerobiz Supersonic or Romance of the Three Kingdoms, or graphing growth in Sim City, but as an adult, I think that's what I'm struggling with right now, figuring out how to "put in the work" in a meaningful way.
So I'm starting with a fern garden in my shaded backyard.
