How TF do you get a local address for all your life shit before you've established a permanent residence/home? We moved to Colorado and we're staying in an AirBnb (meh) for a couple months while we house hunt. We may end up doing a longer term rental (6-12 months) if we don't find something in that time, in which case we'll have a proper lease and address.
But until then, I can't update my car insurance policy, I can't update my work benefits & healthcare, I can't even sign up for a local PO or mailbox because I don't have a lease document or utility bill or voter registration with an address I currently "own".
We sold our house back in Georgia, and I've updated some things like credit cards to use my dad's address back in Georgia - but going further than that (CO license, insurance, voter registration, work stuff, etc) seems questionable. I've read mixed things online about using an AirBnb address; potential complications for both the owner and the "renter".
Anyone have experience with this? I'm just worried I'll need to tap into some of these things and having the address/residency out of whack will cause problems for us.
