I had so much fun playing this game as a kid

One random evening while visiting some of my mom's friends from church for dinner, afterwards the husband took me and my brother into his office and loaded up Wolf3D for us, and it blew my fucking mind.
Up until this point, I was primarily a console gamer like most young kids and really enjoyed playing them, but I had never seen anything like this game before. My only exposure to computer games up until this point had been older EGA/CGA video games that felt inferior to the games I enjoyed playing on NES or Genesis. But Wolf3D flipped the script completely, because it was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before.
My brother and I sat in there for hours just playing that game. And after that, I was obsessed with PC gaming and what it could offer that I wasn't getting from console games. It's still such a core memory for me, and it's crazy how vividly I can still remember that experience, despite it being over 30 years ago.
