I've never played Fallout, Fallout 2 or tactics. I was hoping the chatty would chime in when i did my post and mention memorable classic Fallout moments, but sadly nothing.

I've played all of them since the original Wasteland, and the difference in F3/NV was scale.

Fallout 1 was a surprisingly short game, and really the first chance they had after Wasteland to

Fallout 2 was basically Fallout 1 with like 4 times the game area and a ton of extra content. It had new/interesting locations but the gameplay was almost exactly F1.

Fallout Tactics was basically F1/F2 combat sequences, there wasn't much story there.

I was one of those people who was concerned about F3's move to first-person, but now I can't imagine the game any other way. VATS aiming doesn't work as well but that's the main shortcoming, the games are superior in every other way. The number of locations and variety of little things that can happen are just amazing.

These are, undoubtedly, my favorite games. The main thing that concerns me this year is that Witcher 3 was such a fantastic, amazing game that Fallout 4 may not win GOTY. Witcher had a better overall story than any Fallout game, but Fallout is a more fully developed universe so the side missions and unique locations are more enjoyable.

As a wasteland junky I like F1 and F2. All the fps versions I find blah.

Err play it? Why are you doing a top 10 moments list when you haven't played 1 & 2?

I closed the video immediately when I saw that.

My favorite location in F3/NV was the Republic of Dave:

The Republic of Dave is a small farming settlement in the far northeastern corner of the Capital Wasteland that is considered by its close-knit inhabitants to be a sovereign nation-state. In earlier years it was known as the Kingdom of Tom before being taken over by its current ruler, Dave, who subsequently allowed voting, and thus, it became a republic.

Over the past two centuries, this tiny plot of land has been known as the Kingdom of Larry, the Republic of Stevie-Ray, Billsylvania, the New Republic of Stevie-Ray, and most recently the Kingdom of Tom, after Dave's father.

In his earlier days, Dave was exiled from the Kingdom of Tom and wandered the Wastes, gaining experience and maturing into a deadly mercenary. He returned, instigating a rebellion that eventually overthrew his father Tom, and renamed the Kingdom the "Republic of Dave".

Despite its small size, the Republic's economy seems to prosper due to increasingly rare trading with the caravans. It also has its own agricultural sector to the left of the entrance.

      The Republic of Dave Military

The military consists of Dave and Bob.

Not only is the initial concept hilarious -- The Republic of Dave -- but the previous names are awesome as well. I can just imagine the writers sitting around brainstorming crazy ways of naming a place that is always named after its ruler.

The children are taught that Dave is better than an average human being, notably: "As a baby, he never cried and his poop didn't stink."

Would have added the hillbillies for point lookout, but that is mostly because I loved that DLC, maybe my favorite DLC of all time.
