While eSports has exploded into a full-blown phenomenon, the folks at Blizzard have fared well aiming at the college eSports demographic. Coming off the first successful Heroes of the Dorm tournament, Blizzard is now looking to continue its college tournament for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. However, Blizzard and The eSports Association will look to introduce a few tweaks for this third tournament.

The third TeSPA Collegiate Hearthstone Championship will run with a team format, similar to Heroes of the Dorm. Three students will play one deck together at the same time, in an effort to up the school affinity and teamwork element. Teams can register on the TeSPA website, which will include all of the registration requirements.

Sign-ups are open from now through September 25, with Season Play set to kick off on September 28. The TeSPA Collegiate Hearthstone Championship Finals will see the top team from the North, South, East, and West regions face off in January 2016 with a $100,000 scholarship on the line.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
