New Diablo project revealed via Blizzard job posting
A new unannounced Diablo project is currently underway, according to a job posting on Blizzard's careers website.
Blizzard’s careers site has posted a job listing looking for an art director for an unannounced project set in the Diablo universe.
The listing asks that potential candidates have “a passion for games with a deep understanding of the Diablo franchise.”
This job listing could hint at a number of things, with the most likely being a new expansion for Diablo 3. It could also possibly hint at a completely new Diablo game, although considering how long it took Blizzard to release Diablo 3 after Diablo 2 (nearly twelve years), we don’t see this to be as likely as a new expansion.
One piece of speculation we also thought of was the possibility of a free-to-play game set in the Diablo universe. Considering how popular Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm have become over the years, developing a new free-to-play game could also be a possibility, although we know there’s slim-to-no chance of that being the case here.

Doesn't really matter. Expansion doesn't function without base game, and the console version (this gen) had it rolled into a single package. There were two SKUs last gen, one with the base game, and another with everything rolled into it. Either way we're still talking about 30M units of D3 being out there.
