Battlefield 4 reminds players that there's more than one active Battlefield game at the moment and the Spring Patch has introduced some major fixes, as well as a new game mode making its triumphant return from Battlefield 3: Close Quarters.

There's more than one Battlefield game on the market, so while EA and Visceral are issuing content for Battlefield Hardline, DICE is continuing to issue updates for Battlefield 4. The game's big Spring Patch was released a little while ago, adding some new content for no extra charge and offering a handful of fixes.

The Spring Patch includes five new weapons for Battlefield soldiers, as well as a whole new game mode called Gun Master. Battlefield 3 veterans will remember Gun Master as the team deathmatch mode that equips playhers with new weapons for every two consecutive kills. Gun Master will be playable across Battlefield 4's ten base game maps. Numerous fixes have also been introduced, including some further refinements to the game's netcode, including some much-needed fixes for client and server crash issues.

The full patch notes can be found on the Battlefield forums. The new Battlefield 4 Spring Patch is live right now.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
