NBA Playoffs takes over Xbox One with free weekend of NBA 2K15

2K Sports and Microsoft are making NBA 2K15 available for free to play this weekend as a way to celebrate the NBA Playoffs.

The NBA Playoffs is well under way and both Microsoft and 2K Sports are celerabrating by offering NBA 2K15 for free on Xbox One this weekend.

Xbox Live Gold members will be able to access NBA 2K15 in its entirety for free this weekend starting at 12pm PT on April 24 through 12:01am PT on April 27. As with previous free weekend promotions hosted by Microsoft, those who decide to purchase the game after this weekend will be able to continue where they left off.

Microsoft is making the decision to purchase NBA 2K15 a little bit easier as they have a special discount for the game this weekend. The NBA 2K15 Bundle is 40% off MSRP and includes 15,000 VC to spend in game. For those who already own NBA 2K15 or want to get ahead of the competition during this weekend’s free play, all of the game’s Virtual Currency for Xbox One is 33% off this weekend.

Microsoft has been more open to the idea of offering particular games for free over the weekend as we've seen Forza Motorsport 5 and Sunset Overdrive become available to play for free in the past. They're still no Valve considering there's a free game to play nearly every weekend, but their effort is certainly better than nothing.
