Forza Motorsport 5 free this weekend on Xbox One for Gold members

PC players are all too familiar with Steam’s free weekend offers that allows its users to play a title completely for free within a certain amount of time. Well, it looks like consoles are getting in on that action as Microsoft has announced they’ll be offering Forza Motorsport 5 for free this weekend.

Xbox Live Gold members will be able to play Forza Motorsport 5 for free starting at 12:01am PT on Thursday, September 4 through 11:59pm PT on Sunday, September 7. The special free weekend event will allow those who have yet to experience the game a chance to do so from the comfort of their Xbox One. Gold members will be able to take part in special in-game challenges, compete against other racers online and even earn and achievement or two in the process.

One such special event is called the Grand Tour of Prague, which allows players to compete in a special multiclass endurance in-game race event. Completing this event while driving at least 130 miles will earn a new title and badge for their Forza Motorsport 5 profile.

Once the free weekend is over, players who want to continue their experience with Forza Motorsport 5 have the option to purchase the title from either the Xbox Store or their retailer of choice to continue where they left off. Or you could just wait until the latest Forza title, Forza Horizon 2, becomes available on September 30.
