Have you been itching to get your hands on Sunset Overdrive? Well - you'll soon be able to cause as much chaos as possible now that Microsoft will make it available for free this weekend.

Microsoft is celebrating Xbox One’s one-year anniversary this weekend by giving Xbox Live Gold members access to Sunset Overdrive for free for 24 hours.

Beginning on Saturday, November 22nd at 12:01 Easter Time, Xbox One Xbox Live Gold members will be given full access to Sunset Overdrive, which means you’ll get to experience the full game, earn achievements and save your progress as you grind on every possible surface within the game. Sunset Overdrive’s multiplayer mode, Chaos Squad, will also be available, although players still need to make their way through the game’s campaign in order to unlock it.

Players who decide to purchase Sunset Overdrive after the free 24-hour period is up will be able to continue right where they left off, which is definitely a good thing, especially if you were able to invest a full 24 hours into the game. If you're wondering whether or not you should be excited by this offer, be sure to check out our review.

That is pretty fucking awesome. Steam-like, but with something fresh and new!

Although it does make me fret for the sales of the game, despite the massive ad push it's been getting.

Why? I think it is more of a 1 yr Anniversary thing.

The cynical side of me agrees with him. MS dumped a ton of money into this IP and expected it to set the world on fire. Despite positive reviews and a generally good reception, it doesn't seem like the game had the pull they wanted. This kind of does reek of desperation.

But hey, who wants to be cynical all the time? Try this awesome game for free, buy it if you like it. Everyone wins!

Awesome. I had no intention of buying the game, but if the demo is good I'll probably pick it up.

Same for me. The visual style doesn't really seem to be what I normally like but this way I can try it out and see if I was being closed minded.

It's the full game, it's just a 24-hour trial. If you buy it, you'll pick right up where you stopped in the trial.

Everyone should at least try this. I thought it was great. It has some great boss fights, fun weapons, good writing and it always knows what kind of game it wants to be.

It does take a bit of time to get into it but once you get the air dash unlocked and figure out all of the movement it really takes off.

Just got the air dash and its lovely! Really improves the gameplay/mobility.

Yes it does. It opens up the ability to really keep your movement speed up by allowing you to get to that next rail or bounce jump point. Also take some time to really get used to the wall running because it can feel a bit weird on how to do it at first.
