Final Fantasy 13 trilogy coming to Steam

Square Enix is bringing the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy to Steam, beginning with the first game, set to hit on October 9.

The series of adventures starring Lightning and her friends is set to make the jump from consoles onto PC. Square Enix confirmed at this year's Tokyo Game Show that the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy will be coming to Steam, beginning with the first Final Fantasy XIII on October 9.

Videogamer notes that the first game's Steam listing is now active, revealing a $15.99 price tag, with a 10% off pre-order rate. Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII are expected to release before spring 2015.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I said that this would come with inflated SquareEnix pricing similar to what they do on mobile. I am happily wrong!

Nice one, guys! too bad your game is still shit

I will buy them all even though they were mediocre games simply because I love FF.

why would you do that? you'll just encourage them to make MORE mediocre games.

Only buy the good ones, and they will make more of those.

Just wait till all 3 of the 13 games go on a bundle sale during summer or christmas and get them for 5 bucks and even then they're BARELY worth it....

Awesome, I have all three already but I'll probably pick them up again since I prefer to play everything on the PC. IMO XIII is the best of the trilogy

I'll probably pick these up. The sequels were supposed to be pretty good, right?

I got 3/4 of the way through the first one before I hit a boss I couldn't beat without grinding so I just stopped there.

Was it Vanille's Eidolon? I feel like that's the hardest fight in the game.

The first one had the best story, music and combat system out of the three. It's one of my favorite FF games.

The second one's story falls apart like Destiny bad, the combat is okay, and music is all right.

The third one's story is okay as they decided not to take themselves seriously anymore, core game is fun, battle system is meh, and the music is all right.
