Sick of comments cluttering the screen? Here's how to turn off comments when playing custom Super Mario Maker 2 levels in Course World.

There are loads of courses to play in Super Mario Maker 2, including tons of custom-made levels offered through Course World. With that said, the social nature of the game gave the developers reason to implement a comment system that many players aren't fond of. It's not that it's not fun to leave comments; instead, comments themselves become a nuisance because they get plastered all over the course, sometimes blocking important elements or obstacles. If you're wondering how to turn off comments in Super Mario Maker 2 Course World, you've come to the right place.

Super Mario Maker 2 Course World | How to turn off comments

To turn off comments in Super Mario Maker 2 Course World, players simply need to flip a toggle in the game's pause menu. First, load up a level, any downloaded or uploaded level that features comments, through Course Mode. Once the level has loaded, press the Plus button to bring up the pause menu.

From there, look for the option beneath Exit Course that says Display Comments. When comments are enabled, there will be a check or tick to the left of this button. Tap on the button, or highlight it and press the A button on your controller, to toggle off comments. The check will turn into a cross to indicate that comments are disabled.

Naturally, players can toggle comments on and off anytime they like through the pause menu. If you're playing through a particularly tough course and keep getting hung up on random comments displayed on-screen, simply bring up the pause menu and select the Display Comments toggle to hide them. Once you're done, you can toggle it again to make sure comments reappear the next time you load a level.

Like many functions in Super Mario Maker 2, players can turn off comments in Course World through the toggle function in the pause menu.
