It won't take too much storage space to download and install Super Mario Maker 2 from the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Like all digital downloads, Super Mario Maker 2 requires some available hard drive space in order to download, install, and play the game. Fortunately for Nintendo Switch owners, the game doesn't have a very large file size, meaning fans should be able to go from download to play in just a matter of moments.

Super Mario Maker 2 | Download and install file size

The Super Mario Maker 2 game software takes up 2.8GB of storage space on the Nintendo Switch, as detailed on the official Nintendo website. This is toward the low end of the spectrum, as many Switch games are upward of 10, sometimes even 20GB to install. It's likely that most Switch players already have this much free storage openly available on their system, but if not, even deleting a demo or two should clear up enough space to install the game.

Still haven't checked out the latest that Super Mario Maker 2 has to offer? Shacknews' own Man with the Briefcase took a deep dive into the experience and came out feeling very impressed. From his review:

"Super Mario Maker 2 is a worthy successor to the original game. The additions of the new Super Mario 3D World style and host of new features really make this feel like a solid evolution of that creative explosion that began in 2015 on the Wii U. For many players, Super Mario Maker 2 will feel like a revolution, while veteran creators will take their knowledge into a whole new wave of level design. Nintendo has provided players with the tools to create an infinite amount of challenging, fun, and ridiculous Mario levels. Now we can all play with power. Infinite power."

Super Mario Maker 2 only requires 2.8GB of storage space on the Nintendo Switch, so players ought to see the download and install process complete quickly. To learn more about Nintendo's latest fully customizable platformer, check out Shacknews' collection of Super Mario Maker 2 game guides.
