I'm literally flabbergasted that this happened in a video game. Burke, you may have no idea how culturally huge this is, but to see Fortnite embrace this is really melding what video games are becoming and what social trends are. You obviously know about festivals right?

This just absolutely proves where we are headed as a society when it comes to embracing technology. We are absolutely living in some amazing times and the fact that many, if not most, people aren't capitalizing on it is some of the most insane actualities right now.

The fact that you see this from a monetization stand point for dance emotes is shocking...sure, it's smart on their end from a money standpoint, but they just did something that no other video game (amongst the myriad of other events) has ever done. AND, I don't even really care for Fortnite personally.

There's so much inter-connectivity that we're not utilizing out there that's literally money sitting on the table if you want to talk in monetary terms. In terms, of sheer, "Hey we get it...we understand our audience..." this is the apex.

The event was surprisingly well-done. The in-game mocap of Marshmello while he was surrounded by regular fortnite characters was spectacular.

Heh cool. I started playing that new fangled fortnite game on muh switch with a pro controller. Gotta say, eventually I got the hang of the controls and mechanics and had fun playing. I think I had voice chat off, so it was just the sound of my footsteps and bullets.

Note: this is probably the first battle royal game I’ve ever played, let alone spent time learning how to play.
