How to unlock Cloud in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

The iconic hero in Final Fantasy 7 is a playable fighter in the latest Smash Bros. title. Here's how to unlock Cloud in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

One of the biggest draws to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the chance to fight as heroes like Cloud from Final Fantasy 7. However, before these fighters can be used, they must first be unlocked. The procedure for unlocking Cloud in Smash Ultimate is largely the same as with other characters, but there is a direct path that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players can take if they want to unlock Cloud quickly.

How to unlock Cloud in Smash Ultimate

The easiest and fastest way to unlock Cloud is through the Classic game mode. To do this, take down the gauntlet of characters using Dark Samus. After the final battle, players will see a Challenger Approaching notification on the main menu. Challenge and conquer him, then Cloud will unlock for play throughout the rest of the game. Don't worry if you lose the first fight against him; it's always possible to go back and fight against approaching challengers by finding the Games and More section of the main menu.

If you haven't yet unlocked Dark Samus, you can do so by completing classic mode by using Samus, who is one of the Smash Ultimate starting characters. Once Cloud has been unlocked, players can use him throughout the Classic game mode to unlock Wario.

It's also possible to unlock Cloud by playing through the World of Dark. To do this, fight your way through the Sacred Land in order to unlock Zelda. After that, a new path will open up that will allow players to unlock Cloud.
