How to get a Seed of Light in Destiny 2

Unlock the other subclass paths in Destiny 2 by getting another Seed of Light.

Unlocking a new subclass path in Destiny 2 is pretty simple when first starting the Forsaken campaign, but unlocking a second subclass requires another Seed of Light, which isn’t so clear. Players looking to unlock all three subclass paths/perks will need to do a little bit of extra work in order to get their hands on a Seed of Light.

How to get another Seed of Light

Players looking to unlock their second and third subclass paths will need to get their hands on a Seed of Light. To get another Seed of Light, the first step is to finish the Destiny 2: Forsaken campaign and then unlock the Dreaming City.

Access the Blind Well in the Dreaming City and then offer a Charge of Light - Tier II to the centre pedestal to begin the event.

With the Dreaming City unlocked, players will need to complete a Tier 2 Blind Well event to earn another Seed of Light. The Blind Well activity works in the same way as Escalation Protocol, although players will need a Charge of Light – Tier II in order to begin the event. To reach the Blind Well, start at the spawn point, head right and into the large structure carved into the side of the mountain. Continue through the halls until you reach the Blind Well. Alternatively, an easy way to locate the Blind Well is to open the map and track it, this will apply a waypoint to your HUD.

Players should not attempt to solo the Blind Well, head in with a full fireteam, and even then, it’s best if there are other teams present. A good strategy is to split your fireteam up and make everyone load up a separate instance of the Dreaming City. Everyone should then head to the Blind Well and whoever sees the most players at the Blind Well should have the other players join their session.

Approach the center pedestal and find the slot that accepts the Charge of Light – Tier II. Insert the charge to begin the event. Completing the Blind Well is a challenge, so make sure you’re up to speed on how to clear it. Once the activity has been completed, the Seed of Light will drop, appearing on the side of the screen. However, if it does not automatically appear, it means you will need to do another Tier 2 event.

How to get a third Seed of Light

After acquiring the second Seed of Light, players will need to get another Seed of Light in order to unlock the last subclass tree. Because only one Seed of Light is dropped from the Blind Well, players will need to look elsewhere for their third seed. At the moment, there are two ways of getting this final Seed of Light: completing the Gateway Between Worlds Weekly Bounty from Petra Venj and defeating Kalli in the Last Wish raid. Obviously, the first option is going to be the easier choice, given that raiding can be quite demanding.

Simply head to Petra and purchase the bounty, and then get to completing Blind Well events until it is fully charge. Head to the Spine of Keres and give the offering to the orcale to receive the last Seed of Light. With the final Seed of Light in hand, players will be able to start the process of fully unlocking the final perk cluster.

Getting the second and third Seed of Light in Destiny 2: Forsaken is an important step for upgrading the character, as without them players will be limited to just one of the new perk clusters. Thankfully, getting your hands on two more Seeds of Light is as simple as completing the Forsaken campaign and partaking in some activities for Petra Venj - or doing the Last Wish raid.
