Players heard a lot about the Dreaming City in the lead up to the release of Destiny 2: Forsaken, and now that it’s here, reaching the fabled location isn’t as simple as fast traveling to it. Players who wish to begin unravelling the mysteries and secrets of the hidden Awoken realm will first need to know how to unlock the Dreaming City.

How to unlock the Dreaming City

The Dreaming City is locked behind several steps in Destiny 2: Forsaken. The first step, and arguably the most obvious, is to complete the Forsaken campaign. Upon completing the campaign, speaking with Petra Venj will reward players with an item called the Broken Awoken Talisman.

Players who wish to access the Dreaming City must fix the Broken Awoken Talisman and then complete a Power 500 mission. This is a reasonably long quest-chain, though the main difficulty will be in reaching the correct Power level. Any player who is proficient at Destiny 2 should find it easy enough to complete the mission with a Power level lower than 500, while those who aren’t quite as adept will want to be as close to Power 500 as possible.

After reaching the Dreaming City, and completing the mission, Awakening, players will be granted full access to the entire area. There are a lot of oddities to discover here, and a lot of secret entries in the Triumph page, so take some time to wander around and explore!
