Just in case you missed it, we've got a recap of the major Evo 2018 moments from our expert Ozzie Mejia. It was exciting, to say the least, but it also turns out it was a record-breaking year for one of FGC and esports' biggest events. When the dust settled from Evolution Championship Series 2018, we learned that all of the main stage games saw an increase in viewership this year and Dragon Ball FighterZ was the most watched of the year and for Evo all-time.

GitHyp broke down the news, pointing out how Street Fighter V views more than doubled FighterZ in the first two days of the event before DBFZ rallied to record numbers on Sunday during the championship bout. DBFZ hit a peak of 258,000 concurrent viewers and, while Street Fighter V had its best performance as well, the report credits a boost from Ninja for that. Ninja has over 10 million followers on the Twitch.tv platform, so that makes perfect sense.

Arc System Works and Bandai Namco have to be overjoyed at the performance of Dragon Ball FighterZ. Not only did the game draw a lot of excitement, it has one of the most exciting champions around in SonicFox. DBFZ is likely here to stay for a long while.
