During the festivities at Gamescom 2017, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios pulled the cover off of Forza Motorsport 7’s PC requirements. The game was initially revealed at this year’s E3 conference as one of the showcase titles for Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One X. It is being hyped as the frontrunner for the company’s 4K gaming console experiences.

While it will be the first in the series to debut at 4K resolution on consoles, the Forza series first hit that target on PC with 2016’s Forza Motorsport 6: Apex and was soon followed by Forza Horizon 3. The tradition continues with Forza Motorsport 7, but the game will also run at more modest settings on a wide variety of hardware.

Developer Tun 10 Studios unveiled a very detailed list of the specs required to run the game at a minimum along with guideline for what kind of hardware is needed for the recommended experience and 4K at ultra settings. The full details are listed below:

  • 8GB of ram
  • nVidia GT 740 / GTX 650 or AMD R7 250X graphics
  • 2GB of Vram

Microsoft did not indicate how much hard drive space would be required for the install of Forza Motorsport 7. 21:9 resolutions will be fully supported at launch as well as the most popular PC steering wheel setups from Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec. The game will be Xbox Play Anywhere compatible, so digital version purchases on the Xbox Live or Windows 10 stores will work on consoles or PC. Forza Motorsport 7 is will launch on October 7.
