After an eight-year cliffhanger and a crowdfunding campaign, Dreamfall Chapters is out and continues The Longest Journey saga. Does the story of Zoe Castillo, Kian, and the fate of two parallel worlds still hold up? Our impressions of the first episode: Reborn.
Red Thread Games has finally announced when Book One of Dreamfall Chapters will be released.
Dreamfall Chapters is going episodic, with the first chapter set to release this fall on PC.
Red Thread Games has announced a new first-person horror game called Draugen. Set in 1923 Scandinavia, the game is set to release in 2015 on PC, Mac, and Linux and support VR headsets, like the Oculus Rift.
It's been nine months since Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey smashed its crowdfunding goal (though over six years since the very first plans), and is another eleven until it arrives in November 2014, so how's the game looking at the moment? Creator Ragnar Tørnquist's Kickstarter campaign seeking $850,000 to conclude the trilogy with Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey has passed 90% of that goal in only one week, prompting the release of some prototype gameplay footage and the revelation of stretch goals.
Some of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns have been from industry legends, folks whose pockets fans want to stuff full of money so they can make their dream game, such as Tim Schafer, Peter Molyneux, David Braben, and Brian Fargo.
