The Steam winter sale begins on December 22

Your wallets will take a beating until January 2, maybe even a day later.

After users on NeoGAF leaked possible start dates for Steam's annual winter sale, Eurogamer tapped its sources and confirmed that Valve will begin taking your money on December 22.

Dates for both the autumn and winter sales were leaked earlier this month, but Eurogamer's report renders them a lock.

Eurogamer's sources indicate that the sale will run until January 2nd or 3rd. The winter sale usually last until the Monday of the week after New Year's Day, so an end date of Monday, January 2nd, seems likely.

Even though Steam's Thanksgiving/autumn just ended, you still have plenty of games to buy on Valve's digital platform. Just yesterday the Steam App resource announced that over 4,200 games have been published on the platform this year—just shy of 40 percent of its total library.
