Red Dead Redemption coming to PS4 and PC through PS Now next month

The Undead Nightmare expansion will also be available.

31

We were teased that Red Dead Redemption would be coming to PlayStation Now "soon" back in October, but now we can officially define "soon" as next week.

Developer Rockstar Games officially announced that the game, and the Undead Nightmare expansion, would be hitting the service for PS4 and PC on December 6. PC players should be ecstatic, given the game never made it to the platform despite numerous calls for it. Note that this is the PS3 version and not the rumored remaster that was hinted at back in September.

Xbox One players have been able to play the game through backward compatibility since July.

Hopefully, this should tide RDR fans over until Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out next fall.

It is PS Now so it will run exactly the same as PS3 version except with more input lag.

What would you call it? The title is pretty specific. Doesn't seem to be a problem to me.

Eh, I'm not nitpicking the title of the article, but "coming to PC" to me implies, you know, a PC release. Which this isn't. It's a streaming service (which in and of itself is a terrible idea) which is letting you stream a console game on your PC screen. That's like hooking up your PS3 to your PC monitor and saying it "came to PC". :-P

PS Now is a game streaming service. It is literally the PS3 version being streamed to the PS4 or PC kind of like OnLive worked or Nvidia's gamestream service.

It video-streams the game from the PS Now servers to your PC. It's just the same old PS3 version.

Here's the list of current games

          https://www.playstation.com/en-us/explore/psnow/games/

Sadly this is probably the reason psplus rarely offers major freebies for PS3. If the now offerings were simply made permanent ps3 freebies, plus would be a crazy good deal :P

Still runs great on my PS3...that system is worth keeping around for ICO/God of War/Shadow of the Colossus/PSX & 2 titles alone, but Red Dead Redemption definitely is the clincher.

Until last gen emulation happens, it's a way for PC only folks to play this game. Not ideal at all, but it's good to have the option.

Total non-news. PS Now blows and the PS3 version of RDR, while playable at the time, is vastly inferior to the 360 version running on an Xbox One.

If you want to play RDR on PC, get an Xbox one and stream that shit to Windows 10

Yeah definitely not a PC release. People could stream the backwards compatible Xbox version to PC from their Xbox, so technically it's been out on PC for a while then. I wouldn't market it as a "release" for PC.

Not really the same. You still need an Xbox to make that happen, with this you don't need the console, just the subscription and a controller.
