Travel the Globe From Your Living Room With Google Earth VR

A tear-drop of green.

Google has been working on their virtual whole-Earth model for more than ten years. Although it was impressive through a monitor, Google's latest update to the platform takes it to a whole new level.

The entirety of Google Earth can now be experienced in VR. That means the entire planet is yours to glide through, and Google has even included tours and curated destinations through pivotal places like Manhattan, the Grand Canyon, Rome, and the Amazon River.

Google Earth VR is available for free now on Steam. The only catch is that the only headset supported currently is the HTC Vive. However, according to the release notes, the Google Earth team is working on bringing the experience to other platforms throughout next year.
