The band's back together, so whip out your mics, dust off your guitars, and get your drums out of storage.

If you've been patiently waiting for Rock Band 4's much-needed update, rejoice! Rock Band 4: Rivals, the first full-fledged game expansion, is finally here as of yesterday, as well as the brand new foldable Jaguar Fender guitar from PDP.

Rock Band 4's Rivals expansion is comprised of the titular Rivals mode, which allows you to engage in asynchronous multiplayer with friends all around the world in a battle of stats. You can compete against other Crews as you travel the world and complete challenges while earning points. Additionally, you can play all the way through a special "Rockudrama" mode that's modeled after "Behind the Music" as goofy live-action segments play that feature real people chatting about "your" band and its rise to fame.

Rivals also totally revamps and reskins the game itself, with a brand new HUD, song selection screen and other improvements to the game as a whole, which were sorely needed.

You can pick up the expansion itself for $30 if you already own the base game, though if you want the new guitar and the expansion you'll have to pony up $90. There's also a handful of new tracks that come with the expansion, so if you're needing some new songs to rock out with you might want to grab the expansion if not only for that. Rock on!
