The amount of marketing this is getting is just staggering. Makes me really think the fate of the entire franchise is hanging on the success of this release. If that's the case, then it's too bad that the combat system is completely uninteresting to me.

The combat system actually looks pretty good. I think it'll primarily suffer from melodrama and weird squaresoft character design... again.

See, I'm okay with the cheese. It's moving a traditional JRPG with a turn-based combat system into a hybrid ARPG with concurrent-turn combat (based on what I played in XIII). I guess they may be trying to go where Eternal Sonata went with highly interactive combat, but the video look like it wants to be real ARPG, but maybe without twitch-level positioning and dodging.

I hope I'm wrong. Otherwise the game looks good to me. Except for not coming out on PC at launch it seems. So, either way, screw you, SE!

I'm not familiar with that title. Is it traditional JRPG, or ARPG?

Traditional, articles keep mentioning chrono trigger mechanics, and it's coming to PC!

This is what I'm worried about too. If the skill level for combat is relatively low like a Kingdom Hearts game, and it doesn't have much of a tactical element it's not going to be something you'll want to do for hours on end. I wish it the best and still look forward to being able to play it.

I'm okay with that. As long as if/when it does show up it's polished. The less Warner effect the better.

            eternal sonata? hm.

no I think they're trying to do Kingdom Hearts, which was wildly successful in both the US and Japan.
