Shaquille O'Neal has been part of Shacknews in spirit for some time mainly because it makes for a great play on the site name when we cover stories about him and games. And now, we get a story of Shaq's latest commercial promoting the upcoming ELeague season and his affiliation with a team playing Counter-Strike Global Operations.

The commercial, which aired on TNT last night during the Oklahoma City-Golden State Western Conference finals game, shows Shaq goofing off as he goes "undercover" in CS:GO. If you missed the commercial, it was tweeted out by the official ELeague account to help promote the launch of the league's inaugural season on May 24. Shaq is part owner of the NRG, one of the first teams in the league, along with baseball players Alex Rodriguez and Jimmy Rollins.

ELeague is a partnership between Turner and WME | IMG. The league has 24 teams, including such big names as Cloud9, Renegades, Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), Astralis, Fnatic, Liminosity, Na’Vi, Virtus.Pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) and mousesports.  The game will be CS:GO and the teams will have a  season spread over eight weeks, featuring four teams each week. The playoffs, which begin July 12, will feature eight teams, vying for $1.2 million in prize money. All games will be available for viewing digitally, but TBS will broadcast the matches every Friday.
