The Pokemon Company has unveiled the next mythical Pokemon to hit the series and it is not created by nature, but by man. This is Magearna!

Just because Pokemon is cebrating its 20th anniversary doesn't mean the series is slowing down with new mythical Pokemon. The latest legendary pocket monster was revealed earlier tonight, as The Pokemon Company unveiled the man-made marvel known as Magearna.

Magearna is described as the Artificial Pokemon, created by humans over 500 years ago. There's no word on what type of Pokemon it is, but its outer mechanical Pokemon would suggest that it boasts Steel-type characteristics. Fans will learn more about Magearna when it makes its worldwide debut as part of the next Pokemon movie, which currently does not have a title. The only other thing known about this upcoming film is that it will also debut the Steam Pokemon known as Volcanion.

There's no word at this time how either of these Pokemon can be acquired in Pokemon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, or Y... or if they'll even appear in this generation of games at all. Given that there are heavy rumors that the 20th anniversary will usher in the next installment of the main Pokemon series, it may be reasonable to expect both Magearna and Volcanion to appear in those games, instead.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
