Splatoon grooves to new Piranha Pit and Ancho-V Games stages

A new update for Splatoon is imminent and it appears that two new stages are about to join the rotation.

Splatoon's updates are still rolling out through the end of the year and into 2016 and the next one appears to be imminent. Two new stages have been unveiled and while there's no hint as to when they'll be available, there is scheduled maintenance set to take place today between 4:50PM and 6PM PT.

Nintendo first uploaded a trailer for the new Piranha Pit and Ancho-V Games stages yesterday, quickly followed by a post on the Splatoon Tumblr page. The stages feature unique elements, such as conveyor belts, elevating platform that are triggered with ink, and more.

To get a first glimpse of the new stages, check out the video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Oh man the Splatfest is at the worst time! I'll be seeing Star Wars on Friday night, and Saturday I'm going to a basketball game and need to pack for my flight and stuff. Might not get to be a Naughty Queen =( Excited for the new maps though! The Mahi-Mahi map hasn't really done it for me, it's okay I guess.
