The Division alpha gameplay footage leaked

Even with an NDA, it appears people have been uploading footage from The Division's closed alpha.

[Update: As we predicted, the original YouTube videos have been removed, but we'll continue updating this story with new footage that pops up online.]

Original story:

The closed alpha for The Division kicked off just a few days ago, and as we predicted, a number of videos taken directly from the alpha have leaked online.

One YouTube user in particular has uploaded a number of videos onto their account. The videos, which we’ve embedded below, show the game in action as they purchase new weapons, complete missions, and enter new areas within New York City. Some of the notable areas the player explores is Chelsea and Pennsylvania Plaza, where we see some of the cover-based combat in action.

We’re sure Ubisoft will have these videos taken down sooner rather than later, so be sure to take it all in while they’re still up. If they get taken down, be sure to check back often as we’ll be sure to replace them with footage from additional sources.

Got a new one coming up. Even though it's an off-screen shot, it's been up for way longer than the other videos.

ubisoft doesn't pull punches when it comes to snipping the testicles off their graphical improvements.

While I hate to use the tired refrain that "this is just the alpha",this is just the alpha, and I'm sure the final product will look better. Or at least,it better look better.

I will say though, that opening cut scene was pretty terrible looking compared to the graphical spendor that we got in the first trailers.

Gameplay is something that doesn't always come through very well in alpha playthrough videos. That's the thing I would try not to judge here. That said, it looks boring as shit

It's not like it looks bad - it's just that we were kinda promised GAME CHANGING GRAPHICS with those first trailers. And then the year after a trailer bragging about new (really cool) things their engine could do. And now we see more than half of those things got cut. Preorder cancelled!

Perhaps more accurate would "game changing graphics" had it been released near the time of that reveal. Or soon after the consoles' launches.

Figured this would happen. Watching real people play it in real scenarios, it looks entirely uninteresting and uninspired. Visual downgrades aside, it looks boring.

So The Division is sort of like Max Payne 3 meets Watch_Dogs? I'm game for that.

Hmm ok, never played either of those.

Just based on the art style (Max Payne 3 super contrasty neon) and objectives (Watch_Dogs).
