Grand Theft Auto Online goes to war with 'Lowriders' update next week

Anyone can commit homicide and grand larceny in some random hoopty, but it takes style to ride around in a lowrider and GTA Online players can do just that with the next update.

Given the lawlessness and anarchy that goes down in Grand Theft Auto Online, really, why not opt to ride around in style? Nothing says style like cars with hydraulics that bounce cars up and down to the beat of an old-school hip-hop track. Keep that in mind when Rockstar offers up the Lowriders update in GTA Online next week.

The update will add Benny's Original Motor Works, a customs shop in downtown Strawberry that specializes in lowrider customizations. Players can visit Benny's website from their in-game phones and opt to trick out any one of six customizable cars. Various cosmetic options are available and, yes, there are indeed hydraulics available. Sadly, there do not appear to be fuzzy dice.

The Lowriders update will also come with a new set of missions, as well as expandable garage spcae and a fourth purchasable property. For more on this update, be sure to check out the Rockstar website. The GTA Online Lowriders update will arrive on Tuesday on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
