The Sims 4: Get Together will hang out in early December

The Sims 4: Get Together will not make its previously projected November release window, with EA and Maxis taking a few extra weeks to give it some additional polish. The expansion will now arrive in early December.

EA and Maxis are preparing to release the next big expansion for The Sims 4. As revealed back at Gamescom, the next expansion is focused on bringing Sims together as a familial and friendly unit. The appropriately-titled 'Get Together' now has a firm release date, one that slightly misses its initial November release window.

"Your enthusiasm and feedback inspired us to work even harder to make sure that this pack is everything it could be," Creative Director Lyndsay Pearson said on the Sims website. "So we've decided to take a little more time to work on the expansion pack. The Sims 4 Get Together will now be releasing in North America on December 8, and rolling out to the rest of the world by the end of that week."

Get Together will open the doors of Windenburg, a new European-style world that mixes modern architecture with a more classic motif. It's also set to introduce Clubs, which brings Sims together and unites them by interest, personality, and style.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
