Heroes of the Storm adds Kharazim and Dynamic Bundles today

The Diablo Monk has completed his journey to Heroes of the Storm and has officially been added with today's patch, along with new Dynamic Bundles that should make shopping a little better.

Blizzard first unveiled the Diablo Monk known as Kharazim earlier this month at Gamescom. After a brief stint on the PTR servers, Kharazim is now available to everyone through today's new Heroes of the Storm update.

As mentioned previously, Kharizim will have more than one selectable trait. Those traits include:

  • Transcendence - Every third Basic Attack heals the lowest nearby allied Hero.
  • Iron Fists - Every third Basic Attack deals 100% bonus damage.
  • Insight - Every third Basic Attack restores Mana.

Those should feed nicely into Kharazim's abilities:

  • (Q) Radiant Dash - Jump to an ally or enemy. Enemies are immediately hit with a Basic Attack. Stores up to two charges. 12 second cooldown per charge.
  • (W) Breath of Heaven - Heal nearby allied Heroes, granting them a 10% Movement Speed bonus for 3 seconds.
  • (E) Deadly Reach - Your next Basic Attack increases your Attack Speed and Attack Range by 100% for 2 seconds.
  • (R1) Seven-Sided Strike - Become Invulnerable, striking 7 times over 2 seconds in a large area. Each strike deals 7% of the target's maximum Health as damage, and prioritizes the Hero with the highest remaining Health.
  • (R2) Divine Palm - Protect an allied Hero from death. The next source of fatal damage within 3 seconds is prevented, and the target is instead healed for a large amount.

The patch also introduces new Dynamic Bundles, which contains more than one item, but is automatically discounted if the player already owns any of the bundle's contents. A new Treasure Goblin mount has also been added to the shop for a limited time, purchasable with Gold.

This will all set the table for the addition of the Infernal Shrines battleground, which is set to arrive next week. For more on today's patch, check out the full Battle.net post.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Dustin Bowder (sp?) said in an interview that Kharazim has a really high skill cap. I wonder why he's only rated as medium difficulty, though.

His kit's fairly straight forward but a decent chunk of his healing is dependent on sustained AA damage and that requires a ton of situational awareness & positioning.

In-game ratings seem to reflect basic kit & control but not the best playstyles.

http://www.heroescounters.com/hero/kharazim shows that lili and johanna are good counters to kharazim. which is good for me since those two are my favorite characters to play

That website is garbage and needs to go away before people start making it a thing for drafts.

Most of the counters are just like "It's a support, pick these warriors." Haha. How funny.

I actually think he is pretty weak except for his heal ult. All of his skills require the enemy to be standing still, even his damage ult. So monk is likely pretty good with some stun heroes but without any stun he just gets kited pretty hard. I'm surprised he has no stun. His skills are ineffective if the target just walks away.

whoa! Did you guys see the part about selectable AI?

A difficulty dropdown has been added to the Versus A.I. screen, which can be used to switch among five different A.I. difficulty settings: Beginner, Recruit, Adept, Veteran, and Elite.

I was just wondering if they could add something like this. They should have stated what the old difficulty would be equal to.
