Warframe gets 'Infested Nightmares' Double Affinity weekend

Has it been a while since you've last cut things up in Warframe? Digital Extremes wants this to be the weekend everyone catches up, as the developer has offered a Double Affinity weekend.

Warframe has been cutting up its world for a couple of years now, but recently received something of an overhaul with its most recent update. Now that players have had a few weeks to acclimate themselves to the changes from the major Echoes of the Sentient update, it's time for a special weekend.

Developer Digital Extremes is offering players the opportunity to catch up this weekend with the Infested Nightmares Bonus Weekend. This will include Double Affinity for all Missions, which can help rank up all Warframes and weapons. Players can also participate in High-Reward Alerts each day this weekend for additional rewards. These include:

  • Thursday - Ishtar (Venus): Survive or DIE. Reward: 10,000 Credits, Orokin Catalyst Blueprint
  • Friday - Vallis (Mars): Survive or DIE. Reward: 10,000 Credits, Orokin Reactor Blueprint
  • Saturday - Proteus (Neptune): Survive or DIE. Reward: 20,000 Credits, Gorgon Wraith
  • Sunday - Thebe (Jupiter): Survive or DIE. Reward: 50,000 Credits, 25x R5 Fusion Cores

All of these missions will run from 11AM PT for 24 hours.

For those that haven't made the jump into Warframe since the Echoes of the Sentient update went live, the Tenno now have some new movement options. All players now have a double jump, a mid-air dash Bullet Jump, a wall latch, wall dash, an aim glide, and new zipline mechanics. This is in addition to new weapons, customization options, and the all-new Equinox character.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I haven't played in a few months. They implemented the Platforming 2.0 stuff it sounds like?

Anyone comment on how good/bad these changes have been? Sounds pretty awesome.

I havent played in a few weeks too but got to play the new Parkour tutorial and wall running felt so much better now and you also can do few double jump variants, it was pretty cool.

I havent caught up with the SA / Reddit threads to read about how it actually translates into combat.

I might jump back in for this. I always found when I was mantling up certain edges I would release jump and back flip instead of getting on top of the platform. So frustrating.

That exact element has been improved. It was a big annoyance for me as well. Let me know if you're still interested in joining the clan. :)

It is such a HUGE improvement over the previous parkour system. You have so much more control over your character now and can do some insane moves. If you haven't played since the recent update then I would highly suggest giving it a try. There is a tutorial that will pop up as soon as you login.

Anyone interested in doing some void runs or something this weekend? Maybe even a raid?

Also, for anyone interested, I run the Shack clan, so feel free to message me if you'd like an invite. We have almost everything researched aside from a couple of items that just dropped.
