Tonight kicks off a whole new format for the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby. With that in mind, MLB 15: The Show is playing digital fortune teller and has simulated tonight's outcome.

Tonight is not your father's Home Run Derby.

No, Major League Baseball has changed the format of the annual pre-All-Star Game event. Instead of individual batters playing through to ten outs, the Derby will unfold in a head-to-head single-elimination format that pits individual hitters head-to-head. Those batters will also be racing against the clock to hit as many dingers as possible before the time limit.

Even with a new format, MLB 15: The Show has simulated its own Home Run Derby and has predicted victory for hometown hero, Cincinnati Reds outfielder Todd Frazier. Watch him swing his way to victory in the video below.

Of course, one thing that a simulation cannot account for is the unpredictable weather, as the field has apparently been affected by afternoon rain. Will this sudden onset of showers affect tonight's results? Find out when the 2015 Gillette Home Run Derby presented by Head & Shoulders takes the field tonight at 8PM ET/5PM PT.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
